So glad you’re here!

Hi, it’s me, Julia, the person who’s made it her mission to create non-cliche photos for you.

I was born in Germany, spent my teenage years in the UK and took off to India for a year when I was 16. I later moved on to Argentina and Ghana, where this whole thing turned into a real job, before ending up in Berlin, where I have lived for 6 years now. I have always loved being creative but I don’t have one of those stories where I’ve always known that I wanted to be a photographer. I had so many different weird jobs to afford living in different countries before I realised I could make a living doing what I love. And that definitely didn’t happen over night.
I feel extremely grateful that I get to photograph people in love or someone sitting on a pile of 300 lemons in an empty parking lot, and call it my job. So when I get to photograph you, you can be sure that I will give my everything, because I never take this work for granted and I truly love what I do!
I don’t take myself too seriously and I’m a slightly sarcastic, easy going person. So if you’re looking for someone who you can have a laugh with AND produce killer photos with - look no further!

BASED IN BERLIN - TAKING INTERNATIONAL BOOKINGS

A little about me…

  • family

I am lucky I get to call these two weirdos my family. They get me through life and one day I’m going to have a home in the countryside with 5 more dogs, chickens, goats, ducks and maybe a donkey.

  • we got hitched

We eloped on a hot June afternoon in 2021 with just our closest friends and had pizza and champagne to celebrate. We’re not very traditional and didn’t want the legal part of the wedding to be too serious, so we just decided to have a party! We’re having a slightly bigger - but still small - wedding later this year, where I might not be wearing 4 inch heels. But who knows…

  • good company

One of my favourite things in the world is to cook for my friends and throw together an impromptu dinner party. Give me a an excuse to celebrate something and to have friends over, and I’ll start cooking. My friends are family to me and I would do anything for them.

  • weekends

You’ll most likely bump into me at a flea market looking for whiskey glasses, another coat I don’t need, antique jewellery, anything apothecary and random knick knacks. Or you’ll find me having a boogie at an outdoor rave in Berlin on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Or also very likely, I’ll be lying on the couch watching trashy reality tv.

Moments from our elopement.

Definitely a highlight of 2021.

FAQs

  • It’s easy, it’s fun and you get to be yourself.
Maybe you want to have a photo shoot for a specific occasion, maybe you just want a memory of your life at this very moment in time. Maybe you’ve started a new business or fashion line and would like to present it to the world.
Whatever your motivation for a shoot may be, you can send me an inquiry with what you have in mind. We will then have a phone or video chat to get to know each other and to discuss your ideas further so that I understand what your dream photos look like. I’ll guide you through my creative process and I can suggest a great location for you and assist with the styling.
Then on the day of the photo shoot you don’t have to worry about anything anymore, because I will literally be there to help you with every single step. I promise it won’t be awkward and the whole shoot will actually be really fun.

  • YES, absolutely. You might already have an established business or just be starting out, and in need of professional photos that are different than what you see on every other website. You want photos that actually tell a story and represent your values and personality. That’s exactly my jam. We start with your brand’s story and create a mood board. We talk about all aspects of the visuals (the light, the accessories, the mood, what do you want people to feel when they see your photos) and set up a time frame. So once the day of the shoot is here, we know exactly what we’re doing. Once we have covered all the shots you were dreaming of, we have room for some more wildly creative ideas if you’d like to play around and see what we come up with. All in all, a shooting day is a lot of fun and the results present your brand to the world.

  • 100%.
We can do anything you like! We can go to a diner for a retro shoot, get ice cream and stroll along the canal, ride a ferris wheel for cute pictures with a view, find a rooftop parking lot for urban vibes, spend time in your home where you’re cooking and drinking wine, go roller skating, spend time in an old record shop, or climb a mountain. There are endless options and I love it when couples choose to do something that they enjoy doing together anyway, because it usually makes them feel relaxed and brings out their personalities, which is so fun to capture and makes for very organic moments and genuine photos.
So yes, tell me what you have in mind and we’ll make it happen!

  • Sure do! A wedding is such a special time in your life and I feel honoured that I get to capture it for you.
I only accept very limited bookings for weddings each year. I mostly photograph civil weddings, elopements and intimate weddings. I love being able to focus on fewer weddings to give you the best experience possible.
I will be there by your side on your wedding day and document all the wonderful moments between you and your loved ones.
It’s important that you feel comfortable with your photographer, that’s why I like meeting my couples beforehand to get to know each other.
I love unique weddings and couples who just celebrate their own way, without caring about wedding industry standards. Whatever your wedding may look like, if you’d like to have me capture it, just reach out and let’s chat. Can’t wait to hear from you and be part of your special day!

  • Please book right now, because yes, I love them! I adore couples who want to get creative and aren’t shy to get out of their comfort zone. I don’t like very fake shoots or copying another photographer’s ideas. So if you’re rally up for it, we can come up with an idea together and I can set the entire thing up, including location, outfits, hair & make up, props, etc.
This is usually a larger project but you’ll have killer photos that you’ll look back on for an entire life time.

The only exception are classic styled wedding shoots. There are far too many of them out there and they don’t excite me. We can set up a themed wedding with a unique look (think pink Vegas, a laundromat, a supermarket, the roaring 20s, a sail boat, etc.). All other styled shoots are encouraged and welcome :)

  • I would say it’s always good to get in touch as early as possible. Wedding dates often get booked out a year or two in advance. For couple shoots I would say inquire 2-4 months in advance. Sometimes I can do a shoot pretty spontaneously, so it doesn’t hurt to ask, but to guarantee that I’m available for the day you want, please get in touch early.
Especially spring and summer gets very busy. If you’re available during the week, it’s a lot easier to get a date for a shoot.

  • Yes and you can stay informed about those by signing up for my newsletter.

Sometimes I’m looking for a person or a couple for a specific idea that I want to shoot. You don’t need to be a professional model for this but have to feel comfortable in front of the camera. I will plan and style the shoot and you get to have a fun time and free photos!

  • When it’s a good fit, yes.

  • Yes, absolutely. I travel a lot anyway, so you might even get lucky and I’ll happen to be in your city at some point, but I also travel a lot for photo shoots, so I’ll come anywhere that you want to shoot!

Got any other questions? Just send me a message :)
